If we are not finding all of your reference labels, please consider the following:

• 2-digit ref labels — By default, we only look for ref labels with at least 3 digits. If you use 2-digit reference labels, you need to turn off the "Strict Ref Labels" option in our proofreading preferences.  We recommend that you use at least 3 digits in your reference labels to avoid false alarms with 2-digit numbers that are not reference labels.
• Scanned PDFs — If you have a PDF that was scanned, then we are not able to extract the ref labels and you should run it through an OCR tool before using it with Patent Bots.
• Parsing Mistakes — We have a machine learning parser that is used to identify ref labels and it occasionally makes mistakes.  We are constantly improving our machine learning models so you will see fewer of these in the future.
• Location — We only look for reference labels in the Detailed Description section.
