Zero Data Retention

Patent Bots implements Gen AI tools with AWS Bedrock.  AWS Bedrock provides zero data retention to protect your data.

  • Gen AI inputs and outputs are not logged or stored (by either AWS Bedrock or Patent Bots).
  • Your data is not used for any training.
  • Any abuse monitoring is automated and does not include human review.
  • Patent Bots currently uses Llama 3 models.  Our choice of model may change as better models become available.

Enabling Gen AI for your Subscription

Gen AI features are turned off by default and must be enabled by a your subscription admin.  

  • Allow Gen AI for Drafting -- This enables Gen AI for tools for drafting the content of your documents (e.g., Gen AI Drafting chat and Gen AI prompts in our Word add-in).
  • Allow Gen AI for Non-Drafting -- This enables Gen AI for informational tools that are not for drafting documents (e.g., PatentPlex assistants, Gen AI Review in proofreading, and summaries of office actions in OA Admin).
There are currently no additional fees for enabling or using Gen AI features, but this may change in the future.

AWS Bedrock Terms and Security

AWS Bedrock provides a secure environment for use of Gen AI:

Cloud security at AWS is the highest priority. As an AWS customer, you benefit from data centers and network architectures that are built to meet the requirements of the most security-sensitive organizations. (link)

AWS Bedrock provides zero data retention by default and does not train models on customer data:

Amazon Bedrock doesn't store or log your prompts and completions. Amazon Bedrock doesn't use your prompts and completions to train any AWS models and doesn't distribute them to third parties. (link)
